“Morning and Evening” Collection

My husband and I have made two trips to the Bahamas, one to the super relaxing Long Island, and the other at Staniel Cay, the little island which is a popular stop-off for island hoppers. You will see many large yachts and catamarans as well as every other small boat there.

Each trip filled me with so much beauty and inspiration, and some views became paintings!

The first paintings I completed this year were from the small plane ride to Staniel Cay and the ocean aerial views.

This spring as I was mining landscape photos from my phone for a workshop, I was struck by one photo in particular which would not let me go, and it altered my painting schedule, as I was drawn to paint it in large scale. The first light view from our deck on Long Island had such beauty, and really the colors are what drew me in. Rather than paint with my own color palette as I normally do, I was drawn to create these paintings matching the colors as I saw them in real life.

Once that painting was completed, I felt there were evening views from my Staniel Cay photos which would make wonderful companions. They were both taken just a short distance from each other as we walked the small island roads to the yacht club for dinner. Such restful and peaceful scenes. I designed all three paintings with the same background color and aligned horizon/waterline. I have enjoyed spending so much time, love and care with each one and am so happy to be able to share them with you.

This series includes three paintings, all 36 x 48, and they will be available to my email list at 6pm CST on November 12th and on my website at 8 pm CST on November 12th.
