Benjamin || 24 x 24

Meet Benjamin.

His name as well as his likeness is inspired by @benjaminleebison.  And you know, Benjamin is kind of a lovable name—reminds me of Benjamin Bunny, one of my favorite characters from the Beatrix Potter stories.  And if it’s good enough for Beatrix, it’s good for me too!  (If you’re interested, I would be a Mrs. McGregor in that story as I’ve had many a tiff with bunnies in my garden.  Haven’t harmed any, tho, and mostly they’ve won.)

As for the painting, this is totally a color story.  The purple skies are what steal my heart.  Their bold and graphic nature carries through the entire painting, in the greens, the field rows, and in the dark bold beautiful bison with the heavy use of charcoal.  Even the sides are painted a dark, almost black which is new for me.  This painting grabs your attention and begs you to linger.
